A few more small things done to the car since last update.
First, here is a shot of the newly painted airbox.
I will take some on-car soonish as I also steam cleaned the engine bay. I used a small household steamer that has been sitting in the garage. It wasn't exactly a high pressure clean so it did not do as much as I would like but it did get rid of a good bit of grime and dirt.
I also tossed a can of SeaFoam through the engine today. I did 1/3 through fuel, oil and vac as recommended by most threads I have read on the topic. I used the vac line for the interior temp sensor; a few people mentioned that it could be hit or miss with that line as it has a restrictor in-line but I had no problem, so it is either not working or missing altogether. I got a good bit of smoke out of it but no where near what I had been expecting for an engine with 193k+ on the odometer. I haven't decided if I should be impressed with the cleanliness of the engine or disappointed that I didn't do it right.
With the valvetrain presumably cleaned up after the treatment I feel better about doing a valve adjustment sans any buildup that may have been present. I'm still looking to acquire the necessary tools for the job but will likely go ahead and tackle it myself.
Out back in the trunk I got some JB Weld built up on the license plate light hole that had rusted out. I will file/sand it down to size and try to find some small stainless steel hardware to fit the light back in properly; it currently hangs in the trunk.
Back up front, I have some windshield crack repair kits waiting for it to get a bit warmer out, which will likely be tomorrow. There are two small cracks I am wanting to fill before the snow and ice hit. With the car sitting outside and actually getting some use now I don't want to end up having to replace the windshield if it cracks. I will also see about sanding the rust on the lower panels and getting it a coat of Rust Reformer. The issue there is the texture. I could sand just the areas where it is rusty but then they would be smooth while the rest of that area has the rough texture. I would rather just smooth out the whole area and paint it all at once.
